Welcome to Happy Hooves Riding Centre & Eamont Competition Horses. We are situated in the heart of Cumbria just outside of Penrith, 2 minutes from junction 40 on the M6. Located on the banks of the River Eamont, the riding school has a delightful rural outlook over the river. We are we open 6 days a week to provide high quality riding lessons and hacks to both children and adults. We have a wide variety of horses and ponies to ride for all abilities. Alison is the owner of Happy Hooves Riding Centre and Eamont Competition Horses and has ridden horses since she was 4 years old. With a wide knowledge and understanding of horses she has been able to gain many qualifications and exams, her qualifications include BHS Stage Exams and also Equine Tourism qualifications including The Centre Manager, she is also an examining assessor for the British horse Society. Alison successfully set up and operated Leacett Cottage Riding Centre for 15 years  until she sold the business in 2014.

Alison has competed from an early age and still likes to find time to compete herself. All Staff are qualified  to ensure your visit to us is enjoyable and to be able to progress your riding skills whether its for pleasure or to gain the confidence to compete in any equestrian discipline. Eamont competition Horses are able to take horses and ponies of any age, height and breed, at any stage of their training. Offering a personalised service with all aspects of groundwork, handling and schooling. After initially discussing with you what your requirements are we shall then go through with you the proposed training plan. Owners who send their horses and ponies to us to be professionally broken and schooled, because due to other commitments do not have the time to be part of their training programme will be kept fully informed of their horses and ponies progress at all times. Owners are always welcome to come along to the yard to be part of the progression, if you desire. we am able to pass on our knowledge and work with you so you can play a more active role in their training programme and be reassured with professional guidance that you are heading in the right direction or you can just come along and watch. Therefore, you can play as bigger role as you would like in their training. Once your horse/pony has reached a stage where you are happy and comfortable for them to return home, ongoing support and training is always available, if desired, to assist both horse and rider in continuing their development, as tuition is provided by myself at my yard. Mr Williams – The Perfect Horse Mr Williams is a Horse Simulator and is our newest addition to Happy Hooves and  Eamont competition Horses. He is 100% bomb-proof and is life sized, standing around 15.2hh and like a real horse takes every different type of saddle; GP, Dressage, etc. He has six paces and it is sensitive to leg, hand and seat pressure. He is ideal for riders wanting a gentle return to riding, to improve position and muscle tone and for generally keeping fit. This makes him ideal for nervous / novice riders as well as those who are returning to riding after injury or long break.
